Standing just outside the doorway of a classroom, talking to TN and somebody else. I know my class is starting, but we're having a good chat so I don't care. I go in, and everybody's sitting down. My desk is on the left side, near the front. The teacher's desk is along the left wall, facing the room. I sit down, and look at the board, which has 10 or 12 words written on it, in two or three columns. I write down the words, and then try and figure out what we're supposed to do with them. My desk is turned to the right, so I can see across the class, and Horn is sitting just to my right. MI is on his right, and already has most of a page covered with an essay, with the words written in a column on the left. I keep thinking I should ask the teacher (LH?) what to do, but I know she'll give me grief because I was late coming in. TN comes into the room, and writes down "quetsion" on the board. I kind of raise my eyebrows, and she starts erasing the middle part. I'm thinking that she should hurry up, before the teacher says something. Besides, it's not cool to write down your revolution words and then spell them wrong. She fills in the right part, and squeezes it in there - the t is above the rest of the word. When I look to the left, at the original list, she's erased a bunch. I look down at my paper though, and have them all covered. Looking at Horn's paper, I see he's laid them out in a couple of lines, like a sentence, and has lines overtop. Aha! A simple substitution cipher. That makes more sense, and I see that I've done the same on my sheet. I'm not very good at them, but at least now I know what to do.
