March 26/27, 2005

With my elementary school class at a swimming pool. There are two thin rectangular areas, with a walkway between them. Diving board on one side. I'm on the diving board, and waiting for someone to get out of the way. I go right to the end, and am bouncing and waiting. I go back to the wheel and adjust it a little bit, and by then she's clear, so I dive in. The water's really deep, and viscous, and it's taking me a long time to get to the surface. I'm running out of air, but I finally make it up. I spring out of the water, and am immediately back under the surface. I inhale, and find that I've sprouted gills or something, because I can breathe just fine. I climb out of the water, and head to the other pool. Lots of people, just hanging out. It's like a hot tub, but without the hot. I jump in. Chapman's there, so I feel it'd be a perfect time to challenge him underwater. He's up for it, and AB wants in too. Little do they know, the fools. I take in a few breaths to warm up, and then we start. Underwater, and I'm totally relaxed because I know I'm going to win. I turn away from Chapman to the right because he's making me laugh, and you'll never win like that, even if you can breathe underwater. The pool is weird - It's quite narrow, and long. There's a ledge along each long side where people can sit (and are). The middle area goes way down to the bottom though. It looks like a hundred feet or so. As I'm sitting there, I think about diving to the bottom, or putting a weight around Chapman to send him down, and whether we'd get the bends coming up too fast. To the left, I see him go up for air. I check to my right to see if AB is still down, but he's gone up already. I thrash around a bit to make it look like I'm on my last gasp, and let up a few bubbles like I'm exhaling. Then I jump out, the winner. I'm dancing around, and ribbing Chapman pretty bad. I jump in the other pool, shout a bit, and come back. He's on the walkway, crouching down. He pulls a giant box, larger than a fridge box, over himself. It's painted with red and white stripes, and I make a KFC joke. Somebody else cracks a way funnier one, and we all laugh.

More, but can't remember. It's raining, and I'm skating on my red Staab. I'm on the sidewalk, with grass on either side. I cross a wooden bridge thing, and on the right, I notice my Gonz deck, so I go and grab it. The rear truck is broken, and the rails have been taken off, although I don't remember it having any in the first place. I keep going. I ollie over a puddle at the end of the street, and pass somebody coming the other way.

Then it's sunny, and I'm cutting through yards of beach houses along James Bay. I pass through Sk's house. I can see him inside with his mom. She sees me, and right as I hit their back fence, she calls out to me. I don't want to talk though, so I keep going. I go through the gate, and am confused. I'm in the hallway entrance to a house. It looks like a basement suite - very dark, brown carpet, dark wood paneling. Not many lights on. I head to the other side, and pass by a couple of rooms. The first, on the right, is sunken a bit from the hallway, and inside is a girl lying on a bed. She's cute, but looks pretty young. The next room on the right has a few people in it. The hallway continues on, and there's a door at the end that leads out. Before I can get to it a very old woman (Sk's grandmother) comes and collapses in front of it. There's another, younger, woman with her, trying to help her up. I can't get by, so I go back a little and to the room on the left. I look around a bit, but can't get out that way, so I return to the hallway. She's out of the way now, so I get out. There's a forest path, in good shape, and I go down that a ways before I stop. I'm debating going back to see the girl in the room, but I don't want to run into anybody else.

In a 747. I'm right up front, by the bay windows. The whole nose is glass. Behind me on the left, and back a few feet, LG's flying. Everybody shouting instructions at her. She's laughing, and has it under control. She's a bit nervous about the landing, but then relaxes. The nose is way up, so we can't see anything for a while. We're yawing all over the place, but she finally evens it out, and says that we should be dead on. As we come down, I see a dirt road for a few feet. The road ends in a fence, which we could just smash through, but beyond that is a park with a playground, pretty solid, and power lines and transformers on the left. Not much beyond it, and it's certainly not a good place to land, even though we're dead-centered on the road. I shout at her to pull up, sounding like Bitching Betty. I'm hoping we'll clear the power lines, since we're heading right for them. The nose slowly comes up, and we level off, and then start to head backwards. We're cruising back, and when I look out the left side, I see that a giant power pole is going to clip the left wing. My mom and I both shout to go forward, but not quite in time, and I know we're going to shear the wing off and spiral to the ground. There's a thump, but we seem to be ok. The nose is forward again, and we level off, but we're sinking straight down. The landing gear's down, and we bounce hard off the ground. We hit the ground again, and I shout to turn off the engines and everything else. Looking out the right, I see we're right up against the curb on a city street. Pretty decent parking job for a plane. Everybody gets out, and now I'm paranoid that the plane's going to explode. I'm searching around for leaks, and telling everyone around that planes blow up all the time, and we have to hurry away, and never mind the stuff. People are grabbing their things and loading onto the sidewalk. I go around the back, and then to the left side, and I find a leak, fluid pouring out all over the place. I have to get my bags, so I go back to the sidewalk. The plane is like a large bus now. The right side is open, and there are bags everywhere. Lots of people standing around. I have my suitcase, but I need my laptop. I climb into the baggage compartment, and I'm digging around, throwing bags off, looking under stuff, but I can't find it. I go back to the sidewalk and look around to see if somebody else grabbed it. I don't see it, so I head to the back and look in there. The top compartment is stuffed with all the things we're taking in the canoe, which is crammed in there as well. I go around to the left side of the bus. There's another compartment there, but it's closed, and somebody tells me that's because it's the restricted area, so it's off limits. Back around to the right, and now the top level is open. I think it might be up there. I'm trying to remember where I last saw it. Maybe behind the front seats, but it's not there. I run, and jump to grab the ledge on the top. My gloves are slipping off the metal, but I lunge and pull myself up. Hunting around, but I still can't find it. Mom shouts that she found it on top, so I go back to the sidewalk. She's bringing over a padded bag. We open it up, but there's a video camera inside. Good thought though, so I go up to the top rear of the bus. We're looking around, and I see my dad's laptop, and then spot mine, sitting on a chair. No bag though. I start looking for that, and get right up to the front of the bus. There are three or four broken laptops lying there, with the screens snapped off. One of them's a nice-looking Powerbook, with the screen lying next to it. I think about grabbing them and using them as servers.

There's a pile of stuff on the dresser by the stairs. I'm so pissed off, and I grab the top pieces of paper and toss them into the air behind me. So much crap, and I shove it all onto the floor in a rage.
