Upstairs in a house, based on LI, in my bedroom, which is mostly unfurnished. I'm with Zen and a third guy (Sgöat?). I'm showing them some swords I just picked up. We go into the hall and downstairs, across a room and outside. It's dusky, and the sun is setting over the lake in the backyard (which seems South, but...). Some guy is working on something around the side of the house. We're looking at the clouds, which are in multiple layers, and moving at different speeds, although all quite rapidly. The lowest layer is just flying along. Dark grey clouds rolling in, and there's going to be a huge storm. Somebody says "why are they doing that?" and I explain how the wind moves at different altitudes. They say "no, why are they doing that?" and point straight up. The dark clouds are zooming along, until they come straight overhead, where they're stopping completely. They're being blocked by something, and I don't know what. It's gotten dark and unnerving. Staticky. We look South over the lake, and there's a monster coming. Godzilla-like, very large and scary, but not entirely unexpected. I look up at a flagpole on the corner of the house, shake my fist, and curse Odin for bringing the storm. Somebody mentions they don't think that's such a good idea, but I don't care.

We run inside to hide. I want to stay downstairs, but Zen says we should go up. He and I run back up to my bedroom, and I grab my favourite katana, give him one, and toss a third to the third guy, who is staying downstairs for some reason. The room windows overlook the back, and the lake, and as we look out, we see the monster's come right up to the house. It's right at eye-level to the second floor. It's now bright and sunny out - a midsummer's midday. We don't want to be seen, so we run into the other room, which is completely empty. There's another monster at that window, so I duck into the front corner, which is shielded from the windows. Zen's in the opposite back corner. There's a closet to my left, and I'm worried they'll come in from there somehow. I'm congested, and I jump out from the corner and spit at the monster out the window. It spits back, and I jump out of the way, which is good because I turn around and watch it land and start to dissolve the floor. Acid spit, naturally. We do that a couple more times. I'm scared, and more than a little pissed off. We can see another monster around the corner of the house, waiting or something. It's like visions of two-storey Gwar.

Then all three of us are at the window, which has two separate panes to open. They're both closed, and a two-storey Superman is there, tapping on the outside window with the back of his index finger. I'm tapping on the inside window, in the same place, with the tip of my blade. I open the window a crack, and tell him to leave. He doesn't have to tell his super-friends why he left, just that he didn't feel like it or something. Just leave us alone, and I won't kill him. It's obvious that he's tempted. We're not getting anywhere with tapping on the windows. Then the windows are open, and all three of us are stabbing him.

I turn around and there's a monster, human-sized now, rushing into the room. I'm alone with my back to the windows. We have a very brief fight, and I stab the monster a number of times. He has a sword too, so I'm defending against that. Then another monster runs in, and this one has my other sword. I see Zen in the hallway, standing around. I'm wondering where the third guy is, and then I see him behind the first monster. He's standing, but staggering, and he's been stabbed a number of times. Luckily I now have two swords, so I pin the first monster's sword back against his body, and start attacking the second one.

Then I'm sitting on a couch in the same room. I'm right on the end, under the window, with the couch perpendicular to it. There's a party going on, and tons of people around. TT is sitting beside me, very close. I'm trying to convince her why she shouldn't kill me, telling her how she knows me. I remind her of when we met, and she was coming out of the hotel in Manyberries, and I was going in, and we start finishing each other's sentences, so I know it's going to be ok. She's showing me some pictures of her from a yearbook, dancing, and various other shots. One of the "monsters," who looks like a normal guy now, is making his way over, saying goodbye to people. He wants to shake my hand. I say something to him, and he turns around and leaves. I say something to T about all the blood, and she tells me he cleaned it all up. I ask about my blade, and she looks like she doesn't want to say anything. Finally, she tells me it's a mess. She's sitting with her knees up, and her left hand is on top. I notice a ring, blue topaz or something, but darker. It doesn't look like a wedding ring, but I know it is. She's not wearing any others. I ask her, and she says something noncommittal. I'm filled with immense sadness, and can barely speak. She asks me what's wrong, and I mumble something, and then say "my greatest regret."

Then, no lie, a goddamn WOODPECKER starts drilling on my windowsill. Gah. I'd rather the phone ring.
